The European Network of Restitution Committees brought together in Paris

On October 1, 2024, on the occasion of the launch of the French presidency of the European Network of Restitution Commissions, the CIVS brought together its German, Austrian, British and Dutch partners in Paris.
This network has linked since 2019 to the five commissions which, in Europe, are working to research and the restitution of cultural goods robbed by the Nazis:
the Beratende Kommission (Germany),
the Kommission für Provenienzforschung (Austria),
the CIVS (France),
the Restitutiecommissie (Netherlands),
and the Spoliation Advisory Panel (United-Kingdom).
On October 1, 2024 in Paris, representatives of the member commissions of this network developed their work program together. For a year, France, represented by the CIVS and the mission of research and restitution of cultural goods looted between 1933 and 1945 (M2RS) of the Ministry of Culture, presides over this network. It will lead this multilateral cooperation, by organizing the production of common publications, working sessions and public events.
